WITEZ BLACK ARABIANS

2011 Farm Update

Lots of changes here this year! We’ve been gradually transitioning over to the raising of Pinto Shetland Ponies.

Three big horses left in September and three little pony mares arrived in April and November.

APRIL:

Purchased two black tobiano Shetland mares from Emerald Glenn Farm in Woodville, WI.

WAUK-A-WAY MISTY is ASPC/AMHR and 7 years old. Measures 37” for AMHR. MISTY is a pretty refined Black/Tovero J-J’S PAINTED DUKE daughter out of a daughter of J-J’S APACHE and FANCY SPOT. A Double J-J’s Painted Apache granddaughter. Small, gentle and very kind with a gorgeous head, neck and nice smooth topline.

J-J'S PAINTED JULIET is 42” and 19 years old. JEWEL is a Black/Tovero J-J’S PAINTED APACHE daughter out of J-J’S PAINTED BELL, a full sister to Raven of Bird Haven’s dam, J-J's Fashion Flirt.

Love their pedigrees!! Both extremely white black Tobianos, actually Toveros!

We’re changing from breeding black Arabians to breeding black tobiano Shetlands. LOL Due to age and health, I figure it will just be easier for me and us.....

MAY:

Purchased PAWS JURNEE GIRL, a 15.1 hand 2008 black tobiano Paint mare. I named Jurnee, when we registered her with APHA. Well started under saddle with nice withers. Does very well for being only three years old. Nice fast walk, smooth lope and trot. Very laid back and gentle, a real big sweetheart. Jurnee’s personality is most important, which is fantastic! Our first Paint, though we have owned many Pintos of the years. Now, all we have are Pintos. LOL

JUNE:

We bred Jewel the first weekend in June and Carisma that last week of June by our Black Homozygous Tobiano PtHA/ASPC Classic Foundation Shetland Stallion, HPS PANDA BEAR.

Also, sent this offer to only a few people on our mailing list--
Looking at our new little breeding adventure:
Panda Shetland Pony Farm as an easier, simpler and a smaller alternative. Life changes and with it the “golden years” are creeping in on us closer and closer. With some sadness we’ve made the decision to discontinue breeding our rare *Witez II Preservation Arabian horses. Sadly we have available for sale three young very beautiful black *Witez II Preservation mares ages 2, 5 and 11 year. We wished mares like these had been available to us, when we first started! But instead, we raised two of these ourselves! We’d love to see all three go to a home to continue on their exquisitely rare bloodlines, the program we’ve been following for many years. It would be so neat for them to all go together, if possible. They are all half sisters by the same sire.

JULY:

Well the mares are sold!!! Not breeding Arabians anymore, but still in the Arabian horse business thru 2012 due to payments. Will still have Fancy, our 1993 half Arabian Black Tobiano riding mare we’ve had since a foal. Also Lassie, our 2008 half Shetland part Arabian Black Tobiano riding pony mare.

I can’t believe it, I offered them to only a very limited number of people. A bit of correspondence from their buyer below. Our very good friend, Liz from S CA! I did not expect her to purchase them, but maybe know a friend that would be interested.

But Liz wrote back: "Please put me a price together for the 3 mares. I really do appreciate the opportunity to own such amazing horses. I think they will do well with me and will cross very nicely with Elvis and my Pinto stallion. LIZ"

SEPTEMBER:

Sent our last three Purebred Arabian mares off to S CA.

Sad time, the end of our Arabian breeding program. Liz now has our last three mares to continue their breeding on. We really appreciate Liz giving all three mares a home together, they are truly special mares!!!

OCTOBER:

Bought last Shetland mare for our Little Herd.

At the beginning of our trip in October. We stopped first in SD to see our little stallion, Panda’s Sire and Dam. Next over to MN to see our first purchased Shetland mare, Brielle’s Sire and Dam. Later in the week, drove to look at a large pony herd in WI whom we’ve now purchased our last three mares from. Looked at all of Jackie's ponies in person, but still liked Silver best. The mare, I’d previous picked out sight unseen.

EMERALD GLENN FRAMED IN SILVER is 42” and 10 years old. ASPC Classic Foundation Shetland Mare. All Wink's Showdeo Kid bloodlines. Boy is Silver a pretty little pony!!! Black silver dapple frame overo. Short dish face....nice big eyes...one blue. Loud loud colored mare, throws frames most of the time. Silver’s foals are gentle, quiet and lovely...100% loud color producer. Silver’s kind of a wild little pony, hopefully she’ll get used to daily handling.

Spent 2009 through 2011 collecting and completing our little pony herd of Black Pinto PtHA/Classic Foundation Shetlands. Sadly after 35 years, we have now completed the dispersal of all our *Witez II bred Black Purebred Arabians.

PANDA SHETLAND PONY FARM:

Black Pinto PtHA/ASPC Classic Foundation Shetland Ponies.

Panda Shetland Ponies are rich in their personality and their quality. Prospects for Breeding, Driving, Family Fun, Halter, Riding and Show.

Our beautiful Pinto PtHA/ASPC Classic Foundation mares are line bred WINKS SHOWDEO KID, KID LEE, CHILI LEE, LEE LAND CHILI, RAVEN OF BIRD HAVEN and JJS PAINTED APACHE bloodlines. Our Black Tobiano PtHA/ASPC Classic Foundation Shetland Foals will be sired by our Black Homozygous Tobiano PtHA/ASPC Classic Foundation Shetland Stallion, HPS PANDA BEAR.
