2000 Farm Update

In 2000, we continued on to our Next Generation with El Nigadin's black daughters and black granddaughter.
We lost our senior foundation stallion, our blue black Niga son, El Nigadin in June 1999. El Nigadin had his last three foals in 2000, bringing his lifetime total to 79. 33 of his foals were black and of the total of 79 foals, 42 were fillies. One of his foals became 1993 IAHA CHAMPION SNAFFLE-BIT MATURITY CUTTING HORSE. We had owned El Nigadin all his life, we had bought him as a very young colt.
Among the foals that El Nigadin had in 1999, there was a Palomino filly out of a Half Arabian/ Half Mustang Palomino mare. WITEZ BLACK ARABIANS purchased this palomino filly in September 2000. TBA SKIPPER has four lines to *Witez II with a percentage of 6.84. She is 23/32 Arabian blood, 1/4 Spanish Mustang and 1/32 Quarter horse. SKIPPER has several palominos on her dam's side of her pedigree. When mature, if SKIPPER is bred to our herd sire DJ. Skipper's foal would have 11 lines to *WITEZ II with 18.3% *WITEZ II in blood. Skipper's dam foaled again on April 23, 2000, this time Skipper had a full black brother with a star and left fore pastern. His owners, Linda and David Deutscher of Medina, ND will be retaining this last son of El NIgadin.
We bred our young 1997 solid black roan colt, SERYA DJ WITEZ, to the oldest of our black El Nigadin fillies. Dana Witez BA is due to foal May 24, 2001.
DJ IS ON THE AT STUD PAGE OF OUR WEBSITE. DJ HAS SEVEN CLOSE UP LINES TO *WITEZ II IN THE FIRST SIX GENERATIONS OF HIS PEDIGREE. DJ IS A *WITEZ II PRESERVATION ARABIAN WITH 29.7% *WITEZ II BLOOD. His lineage is 36% Polish blood, which includes Nitez twice, Yatez twice, Hirzan twice and Casino. DJ is pure in strain Seglawi Jedran. The University of Kentucky tested DJ. DJ is homozygous for the black gene. So he will sire no chestnut foals.
My Hal-Amiga, a 1983 black Hal Gibby daughter out of a G-Amigo daughter was sold to Joy and Jana Richwine in Arlington, WA in 1999. They tell us they love Amiga very much. Amiga is in foal by Magic Dream, due to foal July 2001. We retained Amiga's 1995 black daughter by El Nigadin, Mychaela Witez BA for our broodmare band.
Dama Witez, our black 1985 Niga granddaughter, who is out of a Hal Gibby daughter had a very nice big black colt with full chrome foaled on the 20th of April, 2000 by El Nigadin. He looks just like a black *Witez II. *Witez II had a star, snip and the four low socks just like Danzel has. Danzel has seven lines to *Witez II and is 16.4% *Witez II in blood. Danzel was sold to Dick and Pam Cale of Wibaux, MT to be their future herd sire. They are very happy with him. We retained Dama's 1995 black daughter, Dana Witez BA for our broodmare band. As stated above, Dana is in foal by Serya DJ Witez due May 24, 2001.
Lady Briquette had a black filly with star and narrow strip on the 18th of May, 2000. This was El NIgadin's very last foal and only filly foaled his last year, so we have retained Layla Witez BA for our future broodmare band. We consider her very special. Lady Briquette also had a black filly last year with a left rear fetlock by El NIgadin on May 8, 1999. We had already decided to retain Latte Witez BA. Since we already had her black 1996 full sister, Leelani Witez BA retained for our future broodmare band. We figured we could let go of one of Lady's three black fillies, so we picked the oldest of the three and have retained her two younger black sisters. (We sold Leelani Witez BA in November 2000, contract to purchase to Barbara Lanham of Las Cruz, NM.) Lady Briquette, who is a 1982 black Niga granddaughter was sold contract to purchase to a nice young couple, Nikki and Jeff Trauger and their young children here locally in December 2000. They will continue on with Lady's broodmare career.
Genesis Kohli foaled her last foal for us, a liver colt with chrome, flaxen mane and tail by El Nigadin on June 15, 1999. WE LOST GENESIS KOHLI FEBRUARY 10, 2000. The young couple stated above, who just purchased Lady are also the owners of Kohli's last foal, Nickohli Witez BA. Nickohli has six lines to *Witez II and is 16.4% *Witez II in blood. NIckohli will be their future herd sire. This liver colt was out of a twenty year old black mare and by our late twenty year old blue black stallion. We retained Kohli's black 1996 daughter, Klassi Witez BA by Ladin Witez BA, a black son of El Nigadin, out of Lady Briquette for our broodmare band.
Kohli is also the dam of the 1993 IAHA CHAMPION SNAFFLE-BIT MATURITY CUTTING HORSE. KOHLI WAS FOALED JUNE 10, 1979 AND DIED FEBRUARY 10, 2000. KOHLI HAD PRODUCED WELL OVER $30,000 WORTH OF FOALS FOR US. WE WILL MISS HER......KOHLI WAS OUR FIRST BLACK MARE, WE HAD OWNED HER SINCE 1983. This is a listing of her foals:
All of Kohli's foals were by our late blue black stallion, EL NIGADIN; except KLASSI as stated above. We retained KLASSI for our breeding program, now continuing on to the NEXT GENERATION. We had hoped for KOHLI to have and to retain another black filly, but it wasn't to be.
SS Tasha had a black filly, Tianna Witez BA with a star on July 19, 1999 by a black grandson of our late blue black Niga son, El Nigadin. A black son of his black son, LR Kailai Witez, who is a Champion Cutting Horse. We sold Tasha and her 1999 black filly Tianna in the Spring of 2000 to Angie and Ron Jones of Laurel, MT. SS TASHA is a 1980 NITEZ, *RAFFLES and *RASEYN bred black mare. Angie has a 1979 black Niga grandson, who is 15.1 hands and a full brother to Lady Briquette. We delivered Tasha and Tianna to Angie in April 2000. Tasha's first foal, her 1997 black filly, Trixi Witez BA by El Nigadin also left for her new home with Dana and Finn Pedersen of Lakebay, WA in February 2000.
On that trip to Laurel, MT we also brought home our new 1998 liver filly, Serya Evatezza from Cody, WY. Tezza is 21.9% *Witez II and 56.2% Polish blood. Tezza, like her 3/4 brother DJ, has seven lines to *Witez II in her first six generations of her pedigree. She is out of a black daughter Serya Yatezza, of DJ's dam Serya Odessa. Tezza's black sire is the same as DJ's, Serya Raven.
In October 2000 we purchased our new 2000 BLACK FILLY, HA SIRTEN MAGIC from Hinton Arabians in IL. MAGGIE HAS 28.1% *WITEZ II BLOOD WITH SIX LINES IN THE FIRST SIX GENERATIONS OF HER PEDIGREE. MAGGIE was foaled February 23, 2000 by HA Siribn Witez (a Niga grandson) and out of Ann Magic (a Black Magic daughter). She is a big beautiful black weanling filly with huge eyes and nice long neck. Left fore fetlock. Maggie is Breeders Sweepstakes nominated. Hinton Arabians will be showing Maggie and her young black sire, HA SIRIBN WITEZ for his promotion. Maggie was Sir's first and only foal in 2000. We have yet to met Maggie in person, we are looking forward to having Maggie home with us later this year.
In 2000, we took one trip in June to Sully Creek State Park just South of the ND Badlands, two trips one in Aug and one in September to Killdeer State Park and one in October to the ND Badlands with our horses, Doremi and BHR Hosans Fancy Face. Doremi is our bay 1990 Aladdinn Echo son, Remi carries two lines to *Witez II in his pedigree. Fancy is our 1993 black tobiano IAHA mare, she carries four lines to *Witez II in her pedigree. We had a wonderful time all four weekends with our horses riding in the rugged hills of Western ND.
