In February we bought a little black August 2000 filly from Ayres Acres Arabians. She was very reasonably sold to us to give her a good permanent home. She will be a brood mare only. Glory had her hip knocked down, when she was only a month old. She went through a lot of pain and very high fever for the next three months of her life. The hip builds it's own new fibrous socket, but you cannot use a horse like that for performance purposes.
Glory is a *Witez II Preservation filly, 28.1% *Witez II with 8 lines in the first six generations of her pedigree. Serya Glory Be is solid black. Glory's sire is the same as DJ's and her dam is a half sister to DJ's dam. Glory will be bred, probably by shipped semen.
Leelani Witez BA arrived at her new home in Las Cruces, NM in May. Leelani Witez BA is our 1999 and 2000 black fillies, Latte Witez BA and Layla Witez BA's 1996 full black sister. Leelani is 15.2 hands and is doing very well in her saddle training. Her new owner is extremely pleased with her. Barbara said she would love to have Latte too, if it was possible for her to have her.
We only had one black filly in 2001. Out of our young black mare, Dana Witez BA and our young solid black roan *Witez II Preservation stallion, Serya DJ Witez. Djana Witez BA was foaled May 14, 2001, she is a solid blue black filly. Djana is 23.1% *Witez II with 14 lines. The highest % *Witez II foal we have produced so far and with the most lines, fourteen. Seven from her sire, DJ and seven from her dam, Dana. We are very happy with the results of Serya DJ Witez and Dana Witez BA, the first foal for the both of them. Djana is listed for sale on the For Sale page of our web site.
Mychaela Witez BA completed 30 days of saddle training in June, out in the wide open spaces, Up and down hills, through creeks and was also used to for herding horses and cattle. Mychaela is very friendly and easy to catch. We are very pleased with her willingness to learn and we will continue her saddle training until sold.
Serya Evatezza was sold to a lady in Indiana, Tezza is 21.9% *Witez II with seven lines. Kathy has a 25 year old grey *Witez II grandson. Tezza left for her new home in July.
In July we spent three days out in the North Dakota Badlands. We rode four / half hours and thirteen miles on Friday. Saturday we rode nine hours and twenty-three miles. I rode Fancy for the first time both days, our *Witez II bred 1993 IAHA black tobiano pinto mare. Lyle got to ride is Remi again, our *Witez II bred 1990 bay Arab gelding, our Aladdinn Echo son. Over the Labor Day weekend in September, we rode out in the Killdeer Mts. of North Dakota with Fancy and Remi. The trail rides were great. We rode Saturday morning and evening, and Sunday morning and evening. It was very warm on Saturday, 96 degrees. Killdeer is the most interesting place we have ever rode, even better trails than the North Dakota Badlands. Unless of course you only like flatland riding.
In October we spent another three days in the North Dakota Badlands, only this time we were on the Southeastern end, while in July we were on the Northwestern end. We took Fancy and our young black mare, Mychaela Witez BA. It was Mychaela's first time climbing up and down the steep hills, encountering buffalo and other wildlife; she did great. We were very proud of her. We rode Saturday for about 41/2 hours, about 6 1/2 hours on Sunday and another two hours on Monday morning, before leaving for home. (Mychaela was doing so well for us, we now added an additional horse to our sales list, Doremi. Our Aladdinn Echo son, an IAHA Breeders Sweepstakes *Witez II bred 1990 bay Arab gelding.)
In October our new February 2000 black filly, HA Sirten Magic, that we had purchased last October 2000 from Hinton Arabians in IL came home to us. Hinton Arabians had wanted to keep and show Maggie for the promotion of her young black sire, she was his first and only foal born in 2000. Maggie is IAHA Breeders Sweepstakes Nominated. Maggie is a *Witez II Preservation filly, 28.1% *Witez II blood with 6 lines in the first six generations of her pedigree. Maggie is by HA Siribn Witez (a Niga grandson) and out of Ann Magic (a Black Magic daughter). She is a big beautiful black filly with huge eyes and nice long neck with a faint star and left fore fetlock.
In November we bought another horse. Because of our current situation, we certainly were not thinking of adding another horse at this time, had not Schtez come along. Schtez is a *Witez II Preservation mare, 28.1% *Witez II with 6 lines in the first seven generations of her pedigree. Schtez is by Eds Witez, a black 50% *Witez II son out of Mona Witez, a *Witez II daughter out of a *Witez II daughter. Her dam was a Hal Gibby daughter out of a G-Amigo granddaughter out of a Niga daughter. She is a beautiful 1993 black mare with a lovely trot and excellent disposition. She was sold to us as a brood mare only, due to an injury to her front left fetlock. We are looking forward to Schtez giving us some really awesome foals.
In December a deal came together, part of what we'd been working on for over a year. Doremi is now at his new home in Montana. He was sold to his new owners in Wibaux, MT. In return, we brought Fabian Witez BA back home and a 1995 chestnut Arabian mare, a Serya Raven daughter, whom we immediately sold. We didn't even bring her home, just delivered her to her new home right away. So that way we didn't end up with any less horses, but more importantly, we didn't gain anymore either.
Fabian is a 1998 black gelding with a star and left hind partial fetlock. He has had 30 rides with a professional trainer using the natural way to start a horse. He reins, side passes and backs with ease. He is very friendly and easy to handle. His sire is our late blue black Niga, El Nigadin, who sired a Champion Cutting horse. And is dam is our BHR Hosans Fancy Face, our beautiful IAHA black tobiano mare and trusted riding companion. Now with the exception of one Palomino, all our horses are black. So at least now, when we go to a trail ride, people wouldn't always be saying: your trailer says Witez Black Arabians, why are you backing out two bay geldings or whatever?
